Ana Davis

Ana (she/hers) grew up in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan and moved to Massachusetts to attend Harvard University, where she graduated with a degree in the History of Science. She worked at the Boston Children’s Museum before transitioning to early childhood education, where she has been for the past couple of years. Ana is currently a STEM educator and administrative assistant at Ellis Early Learning in Boston, where her roles include developing and implementing STEM curriculum for children ages 1–5 and assisting program directors with various tasks concerning the education and safety of staff and students alike. She is passionate about increasing access to and communication about science, whether that be in schools, museums, libraries, or other community spaces!

Jake Drutchas

Jake was bitten by the business bug at a young age when he realized what a great idea it would be to sell cold, bottled water at an outdoor classic car event on a hot summer day in Detroit. It was a classic supply-and-demand exercise. On that hot August day, Jake discovered two things about himself: his passion for problem-solving and his ardent desire to help others in any way he could. Jake eventually took his talents and passions to the University of Michigan, where he graduated from the Ross School of Business. Following his undergraduate studies, he entered the world of startups and eventually pursued and earned his master's degree from MIT. He remains passionate about problem-solving and helping others, but now he also loves outdoor adventures, spending time with his family, and living the West Coast life with his new wife and their dog.

Sam Corey

Sam Corey is a journalist at 101.9 WDET, Detroit Public Radio. He works on a daily news, arts and culture program called The Metro, which runs from 10-noon, Monday through Friday. When he's not working he's probably dancing, reading, or hanging out with friends. He lives in Detroit in a neighborhood that's next to Hamtramck.

He has experience in investment banking and early-stage software development and currently works as a private equity associate while pursuing a Master of Science in Finance at Georgetown University. Paul is passionate about instilling a lifelong commitment to service-based learning in young people.

Mikaela Strech

Mikaela is a passionate advocate for children's well-being and development. Inspired by her mother's career in Detroit Public Schools and her own lived experiences, she values equitable and inclusive opportunities for young people and believes that every child deserves to be raised and uplifted in community. As an urban planner, Mikaela brings this mission to her work by encouraging stewardship of our environment for future generations while creating spaces that foster belonging, health, and joy.

Our Founder,
Robin Moten

Robin (Robbie to friends and family) was never supposed to be a teacher, and yet has spent the past 29 years of her life dedicated to educating adolescents and young adults in the classroom and beyond. Her college years and graduate studies prepared her with theoretical and pedagogical knowledge about teaching novels and writing, but her real education came through investing in her students; helping them find their strengths, passions, and joys. As she transitions out of the classroom, new doors open, allowing her to help even more students flourish through the work of humanizing schools and classrooms. She’s passionate about reading, writing, sharing stories, music, cartoons, and far too many sports (especially baseball).

Kevin Witenoff

Kevin Battersby Witenoff is an attorney whose career has been shaped by a commitment to equity, youth advocacy, and strengthening institutions that serve vulnerable communities. A former Wayne County prosecutor, Kevin managed the state of Michigan's largest adult docket before transitioning to work within the juvenile-legal system. This experience gives him a deep understanding of how legal systems affect children, families, and schools. Kevin earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University and his undergraduate degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University. His studies focused on social policy, juvenile justice, and fair treatment within public systems. He currently practices as a criminal defense attorney in Detroit, primarily serving indigent clients, and continues to center his work on fairness, access to justice, and community impact.
